Brno is Czech Republic’s second largest city ideally located on the crossroads of Vienna (Austria), Bratislava (Slovakia) and Czech’s capital city Prague.
During your stay in Brno you can visit UNESCO listed sights nearby: the Villa Tugendhat (by Mies van der Rohe) in Brno, the Lednice-Valtice complex a short drive from Brno, or the folk architecture in Pavlov again not far from Brno. Brno offers a number of excellent museums and galleries (The Moravian Gallery, Technical Museum) as well as number of historical sights: Špilberk castle, Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, Capucin Monastery Tombs or the recently restored “Brno Labrynth” underneath the town centre dating back to the Middle Ages. All are easily accessible by foot/ tram. Brno’s picturesque surroundings offer the chance for short half day excursions by tram / car: a boat trip on the Brno dam or a tour of the caves at Moravsky Kras are certainly worth your time.
